Cops and the Hospital

Written by "Edie Brown"

My live-in boyfriend hit me so hard on the face a week ago last Tuesday (hit twice) that it rang my ears. He then threw me on the floor and tried to strangle me.

I called 911 but he took the phone away from me. He hid my cellphone (I had used the house phone to call), my purse, and the keys so I couldn't go anywhere or contact anybody.

I was one my way down the street to a trusted neighbor when the cops showed up. I walked back up the street.

The cops talked to him, he told them I had hit him first (I did strike back) and he told them my 13 year old daughter was in the house asleep. I told the cops I wanted to charge him with assault.

They took their flashlight and looked at my face. I had a small mark on my throat. They then told me if I wanted to file charges, they would also take me to jail and my daughter to child services.

I don't trust cops. They only do something when a bone is broke, you're in the hospital or dead. Otherwise, they threaten to take YOU to jail and take your kids away!

I ended up calling my ex-husband in the middle of the night. He came and got my daughter. Now I am afraid he will use that incident to permanently take my daughter away from me - this is the first time this has happened.
